You knew it couldn't stop there... - The Dragon's Mortal Morsel

You knew it couldn't stop there...
I blame cadhla for Oh, Michelle. Then, hsifyppah defended vixyish with Damnit, Seanan. Of course, cadhla couldn't let that lie and fired back with Oh, Brooke. hsifyppah, being herself, had the response Oh, Seanan M... Then came sheistheweather with Clever Brooke. Someone else, scifantasy, chimed in with Listen Girls aka War Correspondance. Well, all of those had me rolling on the floor as I read them (and not so coincidentally scaring the hell out of my cats). They insisted on having their say.

I give you, "The Cats View" (ttto 'Oh Michelle' by Seanan McGuire)

Oh you folks know the jokes
on both Vixy and on Seanan.
Did you really think that one of them could hatch this plan?
Holy smokes! C'mon blokes,
whatever were you thinking?
You really need to hear and understand.

Now the glowing egg-filled basket was just a minor task, it
was given to Seanan so she'd give it to her friend.
She dressed it up real neat, it was quite the major feat
but she got her friend to eat them and to hatch them in the end.

Yes, eat them all she did, while Seanan watched and hid,
not even once imagining the plot was not her own.
Us cats were watching quiet, we didn't even sigh, it
was yet more prey for us to hunt, these aliens we had grown.

Oh you folks.....

The book we put in Seanan's path, knowing well she'd do the math
And would give it her dupe so that Vix would read the spell
Vixy'd chant and she would sing, and do every little thing
that the evil tome would tell her, and breach the door to hell.

Now you might ask us why, we'd want hell's legions in the sky
and we'd look at you quite innocent and roll upon the floor
Wash our faces or our manes, though we'd take time to explain
There is nothing more offensive, than a sealed shut door.

Oh you folks.....

The killer in the night, who is causing such a fright,
was lured there by our plans on the night of Vixy's date.
Seanan planted deep the seed, played upon young Vixy's need
To have some more adventures, before it got too late.

Now we had hoped that man, would fulfill our evil plan
and clean up all the loose ends our plots had left unfurled
He got Vixy in the corn, leaving Seanan there to mourn
since she's completely spaced that, we cats rule the world.

Oh you folks.....

Oh you folks know the jokes
on both Vixy and and Seanan.
Did you really think that one of them could start this spat?
Holy smokes, c'mon blokes
What ever were you thinking?
To really cause trouble, takes a cat!

*ded* There is nothing more offensive, than a sealed shut door. Yes.

Trust me.. I know :) When I got my two current kitties back in July, I tried to introduce them to the house slowly, so locked them in the library so they could explore that room first.. About 2 hours later, they had figured out how to open the darn door and introduced themselves to the rest of the house on their own :)

and what *else* to you expect two bright kittens to do?
kendaer From: kendaer Date: February 25th, 2008 01:34 am (UTC) (Link)
*grin* I had hoped they'd at least let me introduce them a bit more slowly, but hey.. it's all good in the end. :)

Hee! I love it!

Especially as Sugar just got finished doing the whole "Where were you? You left me out here in this awful sunny spot. Open this door now!" then "The door's shut, I want out!" then scritch scritch "Excuuuuuse me, I need in."

Now I have the door open and it's getting cold.

Yah, she has me well trained. ;p

MEOW! *LOL* I'd accuse you of dogpiling, but I'd have the wrong species, wouldn't I? :) :)

It's all Lilly's fault, of course. :)

sad to say I'm missing the reference on 'Lilly'.

Seanan's part-Siamese. :)

Ahh.. even better!
cadhla From: cadhla Date: February 24th, 2008 05:13 pm (UTC) (Link)
PART-Siamese?!?

I have her PAPERS. Lilly is a purebreed Bluepoint Siamese Classic, thankyouverymuch, and I have the scars to prove it.

And now she knows where you live.

kendaer, did you sell me out, telling an angry kitty where I might be hiding?

Yaknow, I may just have to dogpile into this filk war thing, just to get the cats to scatter.... I had an idea last night but didn't finish it.

You hear maniacal laughter in the distance. --more--

I didn't but my Evil Genius (tm) Tamara might just have sent kitty-korrespondance to Lilly.. I wouldn't put it past her!
cadhla From: cadhla Date: February 24th, 2008 05:27 pm (UTC) (Link)
No, dude, seriously, Lilly's not a mix, I'm very clear that she's not a mix, and enough people try to say she's not a Siamese because she doesn't have that horrifically deformed wedge-shaped head. Not amused cat is not amused.
From: technoshaman Date: February 24th, 2008 05:29 pm (UTC) (Link)
Oh, I believe you, it was just that "now she knows where you live" bit that I ran with. My apologies to Her Superior Breedness. And her favorite snackerel.
kendaer From: kendaer Date: February 24th, 2008 05:24 pm (UTC) (Link)
Darlin' I think you'd have the scars whether she was pure-bred or not. I know I have the scars from every one of mine and nary a one is a pure breed :)

Siamese have very different ideas of 'funny'. I've had lots of domestic shorthairs and only three Siamese, and I've been much the worse for wear from the latter.
kendaer From: kendaer Date: February 24th, 2008 05:43 pm (UTC) (Link)
I've never had a pure-bred Siamese cat that I've lived with, so I'll take your word on that one. The mix that I lived with was definitely a touch on the claw-ier side than any of her sibs though. (mainly because she could eel out of just about anything and her points were sharp ones :))
lisakit From: lisakit Date: February 24th, 2008 09:15 pm (UTC) (Link)
I don't know if I could ever handle a pure siamese. My condolences. ;p

My half-breed is fairly gentle with her claws, but she is definitely vocal about how her world should run. Being part cat myself she doesn't often get her way, but she doesn't let that stop her.

Her sister now was the clawingest cat I've ever had. Quite abusive really. And way too smart for my own good. She was also my snuggle bug and I really miss her.
