The interview meme....

1.) If you could have any job/position you wanted, what would it be? (Create your dream job.)

This is probably the easiest one of the lot. If I could do anything I wanted, I would be much like what I am now, a programmer. It has always been my passion and my dream. Granted, the things I would be working on would be different (AI and games) but I would be a coder. I wouldn't necessarily want to run the company myself, but I would want to control the company and just hire competant people to manage it so that I could devote myself to the code rather than the business aspects :)

2.) You've been successfully poly for years. What do you think is the formula for making it work out?

Hmm.. I don't think there really is a formula that would work for anyone. The best advice I could give is listen to what you and your partners want, talk about what you want and need (and distinguish between the two) and remember that there isn't any one right path to get to your goal, which might not be (and probably isn't) the same goal as anyone elses.

3.) Do you believe in predestination or free will? Why?

Yes. I believe there is a measure of both in the world. There are things which are predetermined, or rather which we choose for ourselves (possibly even before we are born or by our past actions in another life). However, these things are merely events which will happen and do not (and cannot) dictate our responses to those self-same events. We have the free will to chose our path around, through and among those events and in how we both perceive and respond to those events.

4.) Which of your old alt.callahans circle do you still consider important? (Besides me.) You need not actually be in touch with them at this time.

Sad to say I've fallen out of touch with most of the Alt.Callahan folks whom I knew. There is you and Taldin and Alaric whom I still keep mostly in touch with. I still read Liralen's LJ though I don't know if she knows it or not. Most of the rest of the folks from A.C I've not really thought about in years though I continually run into people in various circles who have been involved with alt.callahans even though at different times from when I was.

5.) How do you visualize yourself in 2012? (According to some systems, it's the End of Time--how do you see yourself then, whether it is or not?)

Honestly, I don't usually think that far out. I do see myself as a father by then since Melissa and Alex and I are already planning on children. I see myself in a much more financially secure position than I am even now (and I'm not badly off now at all). I see myself with Jen (and Glenn). By then we will definately have needed to move, so I see us having the land and the house we want to build so that we need not move again from there.

Thank you for the questions Jilara... they were fun to think about and try to answer.

And now, I suppose I must perpetuate the chain :) Who would like me to interview them?

And finally, here they are :)

1) What would you consider the most influential book or movie you've ever
read or seen?

2) Of all the folks on #wicca, who do you regret the most having fallen
out of contact with and why?

3) If you could have 15 minutes of fame in any way you desire, how would
you want to be famous?

4) What is something you would like (or think you would like) to do but
are afraid to try?

5) If you could go anywhere in the world once, but once there you'd have
to remain there for the rest of your life (not even visiting other places)
where would you go? (I'm assuming your family would be with you, so no
worries on that score)

Re: The Interview Meme...

1) Assume that you can, just once, go back in time and ask exactly one
question of one historical figure and get an absolutely truthful answer. Who
would you ask, what question would you ask, and why would you chose that
person and question? (yes, I realize this is similar to a couple of other
questions you've gotten, but I want to ask it anyway :))

2) What is the one thing you are most proud of having done or been in your
life? Why?

3) If you could change one event in your life, based on your current
knowledge of how that event affected you, what would you change and how do
you think the changed result would change who you are?

4) You have commissioned an artist to paint a portrait of your soul.
Describe the finished product.

5) For as long as I've known you, you've been a techie. What drew you to
the computer industry? What keeps you there?

Good Grief! You would come up with tough ones! Will take me awhile...
jilara From: jilara Date: June 15th, 2003 04:13 pm (UTC) (Link)
You see how insideous this is? I've now gotten you a whole passel of questions to ask, as well!

Seriously, I was also interested in your replies, because there are some that actuallykind of interact with some bits of my own life and outlooks. I was curious to see how they matched up.
kendaer From: kendaer Date: June 15th, 2003 10:14 pm (UTC) (Link)
*grin* Ahh.. I knew how insidious it was before I volunteered to be interviewed :)

I figured you wouldn't have asked the questions though without being interested in the answers.. that's why it's taking me a bit of time to actually figure out questions to ask the folks who've volunteered themselves :) So... how did they match up?
